Teacher Training 16+

A new concept of training to help with “CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT”

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • Teaching everyone else and hard to find time to do my own qualifications!
  • Studying for a Degree or Cert Ed and Teachers Qualifications gone onto the back burner
  • Running a business , home and a family .Time in short supply!
  • Don’t know where to start just finished GCSE or A levels and want to train to be a Dance Teacher.
  • Travelling to have coaching – logistically difficult?

Having faced all of these hurdles I have devised a course which could help with all of these problems.” Donna Wilcox

Utilising practical sessions with that of virtual support and encouragement it is possible to meet the demands of CPD.

ALL TEACHER COURSES ARE BASED ON THE IDTA SYLLABUS AND ALSO EXTRA COURSES ARE AVAILABLE ON GCSE,A LEVEL AND RAD ADVICE IF A MUTUALLY RECOGNISED TEACHER.

STEP 1;       CHOOSE WHICH SUBJECT YOU WANT TO STUDY;

*BALLET
*,TAP,
*MODERN JAZZ
*,THEATRE CRAFT,
*GYMNASTICS,
* FREESTYLE,
*DANCE EXERCISE
*ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

STEP 2;       WHAT LEVEL?

  • PRE ASSOCIATE 1 /2
  • ASSOCIATE
  • LICENTIATE
  • FELLOW
  • DIPLOMA

STEP 3;  WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS? IN A YEAR WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACHIEVE ?

Modules or full qualification

HOW IT WORKS………

Courses are run in 12 week( approx) blocks which gives you a clear timetable of study so that you can complete practical or written sessions every week.  By doing this you are having continued support at a pace which is easily adaptable. This means focus is maintained and there is no need to back pedal when classes become hit or miss due to work load or family life.

Pre associate 1

  • To work towards the IDTA Ballet syllabi  prep- grade 3 .
  • You will need a folder, notepad, a camera and video aid would be handy.

Week 6 Distance learning

  • Grade 1 Dance to find own music 1 minute
  • Grade 2 variation(choose)
  • Common faults for new exercises.
  • Ideas for teaching the correct arm positions.

End of first block followed by another 6 weeks ….

We can then look at entry for module 1 . Following this programme it is possible to complete module 1 in a term or pre associate 1 /2. (This equates to the same amount of study as 1 hour per week for nearly 6 months! So in theory cutting your study period in half!)

By doing practical sessions and then theory intermingled this will help with the continuity of the subject and also eliminate some of the other problems for eg; extra petrol costs, time taken to travel as well as class, giving yourself time to do the written or your own prep.

Each teaching qualification can be tailor made to the individual….you may want to do more than one module in different subjects at the same time then a discount scheme or combination can be looked at.

By having to e mail homework and complete tasks/worksheets sent to you will also help with sticking to a study plan. It will be like having a virtual poke!!!! Checking in on progress and having continued support. You could send pictures, written work or even videos of your work.
